It is our great pleasure to invite you to the LIII International Symposium on Operational Research SYM-OP-IS 2026. The organizer of this year’s symposium is the University of Belgrade – Faculty of Transport and Traffic Engineering.

SYM-OP-IS is an international symposium that traditionally, since 1974, brings together researchers, industry representatives, and experts in the field of operational research, providing a platform for exchanging theoretical and practical knowledge through formal and informal discussions. As a venue for presenting new methods, models, and optimization techniques, the symposium fosters connections between different scientific disciplines and industrial sectors, encouraging the exchange of knowledge and experiences.

One of the key objectives of the symposium is to strengthen international cooperation by presenting the latest scientific achievements and promoting research that transcends disciplinary and national boundaries. Plenary lectures and thematic sessions offer opportunities for dynamic interaction between theory and practice, enhancing the development of operational research and its application in various fields.

We invite authors to contribute to the exchange of contemporary research in operational research—whether through methodological studies, the development of new techniques, or innovative real-world applications.
